Aggressive Driving
Aggressive driving is the deliberate actions of drivers that put other people and property at risk. These include behaviors such as tailgating, speeding, running red lights and cutting off other drivers.
Distracted driving is engaging in other activities while driving that takes a driver’s attention away from the road. These behaviors include eating, drinking, texting, talking on the phone and adjusting auto controls.
Impaired driving occurs when the driver is fatigued or under the influence of alcohol or drugs which leads to slower reaction times and impaired judgment.
Occupant Protection refers to any protective devices such as seat belts, airbags and child safety seats which drastically prevents the number of injuries and deaths in auto crashes.
Roadway departure is an incident that occurs after a vehicle has crossed the edge line or centerline or otherwise has left the traveled way.
Vulnerable Road Use refers to those most at risk such as pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists with little to no external protection in case of a collision.
